Clove and Cedar FAQ’s
Commonly asked questions and important information about my processes and services.
Why do I need a stationery designer when I can order online?
As a designer, I am here to make sure every piece is created to perfection. There are many details that go beyond just plugging in your content and checking out. I am here to look out for my couples from beginning to end, make suggestions, customizations, and options to create a personalized experience.
Can I work with you if I am not local to Arizona?
Yes! I work with couples all over the nation, and our communication is by phone and email throughout the entire process.
Do I have to order a Custom Suite?
No, there are two suite types to choose from:
- Semi-Custom Suite: You pick from our featured collections, and we can edit fonts, colors, designs and add things such as laser pockets, ribbon, belly bands, wax seals, vellum wraps, and more. I have three packages for the semi-custom route based on 100 of each piece. If you need a different quantity or different items a personalized proposal can be provided.
- Custom Suite: We design from the ground up. The process begins with a phone consultation to discuss design concepts, vision, color palette, and any specific details.
What is common in an Invitation Suite?
A common collection for an invitation suite consists of the following:
- 5” by 7” Invitation
- 5” by 5” RSVP Card
- 25” by 5.5” Detail Card (this piece can be provided in many sizes)
- Envelopes and Envelope Printing for Invitation and RSVP envelopes
- Envelope Liners
There are many pieces and/or options that can be added to the list above, but this is a common starting point.
How much should I expect to pay for Invitations and Stationery services?
Prices vary based on the products and the needs of each project, but here is an average range of price points.
Semi-Custom Invitations $950 – $1,600
Custom Invitations $1,500 -$4,000
Depending on stationery needs, Day-of-Stationery can range from $500 to $2,000 and over.
Do you only design Wedding Invitations?
No! I also design programs, menus, table numbers, signature bar signs, welcome inserts, place cards, escort cards, favor tags and much more. If we design a custom logo for your invitation suite, we can work with your lighting company to produce a large logo display for your reception.
If you already ordered invitations, I can still create Day-of-Wedding stationery pieces, but please note that I cannot copy or design identical artwork to match a suite already created by another artist. Instead, I can create original pieces with a complementary design using your color palettes and overall theme.
Do products, paper, envelopes, and design elements come in other colors?
Yes, of course! Almost everything has color options and is customizable. Once we have narrowed down your project, I will provide all those options to you.
What services do you offer?
Design – I offer wedding invitations and other stationery designs.
Printing – Digital printing, letterpress, foiling, laser-cut shapes, vellum printing, envelope printing, and watercolor printing.
Embellishments – Pockets, embellishments, wax seals, and more.
Full Service – You have the option to add full service to any of my processes and I will assemble, seal, stamp, and mail out your invitations to your guests. This includes tying ribbons, stuffing pockets, and anything that you would prefer to have done for your project.
Will you work with my wedding planner or coordinator?
Yes! I am happy to work with planners and coordinators to ensure a smooth and complete process for my clients.
How long should I expect the process to take?
This will come down to the specifics of the project, but the averages are
Semi-Custom: 3 to 8 weeks.
Custom: 4 to 16 weeks.
For Day-of-Wedding stationery I will need to have all content and final approval to print no later than 3 weeks before the wedding date to allow for completion and shipping.
